Description: Sweet book featuring folk embroidery from ethnic dress of the Slavic countries. There are 44 designs in all – 31 from Czechoslovakia (now Slovakia & Czech Rep.) and 13 from Yugoslavia (Croatia, Serbia, & Dalmatia). The Czech/Slovak regions include Kyjov, Kreis Brno, Hana, Borsice, Polesovice, Rybany, Hluk, Hradcovice, Drslavec, Kunovice, Vlcnov, Nivice, Slavkov, Korytna, Lopenik, Piestany, Bosaca, and Soporna. Most of the regions include photos of the embroidery and also a pattern showing how to recreate it. Some just have the color photos. All of the embroideries are described and the book includes about 15 pages of general history and technique. The photos are primarily in color, plus some in black/white.
