Additional Notes: Traditional man’s festive costumes from the Chodsko region consisting of the characteristic yellow breeches, embroidered wool vest, cotton shirt, and velvet hat. The pants are intended to be worn as breeches reaching just below the knee as shown in the reference photo. For highly festive occasions a matching embroidered overcoat would be added as shown in the last photo, but one is not included with his ensemble. The vest appears to be the oldest element of the ensemble with the others being slightly more recent. Likely used by a musician or folk dancer in the region as there are some damages indicating heavier wear. You may wish to make some additional repairs and/or have the costume professionally cleaned, but the outfit is entirely wearable and a nice example of the local style.
