Condition: very good; light wear and surface soiling; small hole along bottom hem (barely noticeable from outside); suitable for both wear and display

Additional Notes: Handmade, heavy cotton (possibly with wool) folk costume skirt from the Podlasie region of eastern Poland near Biala Podlaska and the Belarusian border. The skirt was collected and worn in either Zuki or Lipinki village (these are neighboring villages with the same costume heritage) about 15km from the border. This style of skirt was worn throughout this region on both sides of the modern border as well as in Ukraine. Black ground with multi-colored stripes typical of the region.
