Additional Notes: Traditional woman’s folk costume from the neighboring villages of Polomka and Zavadka in central Slovakia. This regional costume is most well known for it’s unique pointed headdress cap unlike anything worn elsewhere in Slovakia. The costume includes an embroidered blouse and apron, both of which have embroidered maker’s initials and floral designs. The blouse has handmade crochet lace along the cuffs. Over the blouse is worn a multicolored floral brocade vest with green trim at the waist. The skirt is made of finely pleated navy blue wool fabric that wraps around the waist and has snaps up the front for fastening, which are covered by the apron. The most restrictive garment measurements have been provided above and if these are suitable than the other garments should also fit as they are more accommodating. Striking colors, impressive embroidery, and in particularly good condition overall. Other simpler variations of the local costume are available in our shop.
