Condition: very good; couple very small thin spots; suitable for both wear and display
Measurements: approximately 33″ square + 10″ fringe
Additional Notes: Elegant shiny black shawl with woven floral border. This shawls would have been worn as a kerchief in the Tekov region around the town of Levice, but they were also used in other regions of southern Slovakia as well as in Hungary where this example was likely manufactured. Beautiful long, hand-tied black fringe along all four sides. There is a piece of stiff paper stitched to the back (easy to removed) that was used to achieve the desired shape when the kerchief was folded and arranged on the head.
