Additional Notes: This style of long rectangular apron was worn throughout northern Bulgaria and was made in a wide range of colors and designs. This example features bright stylized floral motifs against a dark striped background. The floral designs are embroidered in wool and metal-wrapped threads. The final image above shows a girl wearing a very similar apron in the early 20th century.
