Circumference: 22″ around opening
Height: 11″ from brim to top not including pompom
Additional Notes: Traditional man’s hat worn by the Sami people of Lapland in Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Made of blue, red and yellow felt with white, red, blue and green rickrack trim and a large red pompom on top. The brim is made of leather (likely reindeer) and embellished with metal eyelets. Deaccessioned from the Newark Museum with original inventory tag from 1952 still sewn to the inside. The cap was likely accessioned around the time it was made.
