Additional Notes: Traditional embroidered cap typical of the village of Banka in western Slovakia near the town of Piestany. Embroidered with purple, white and green floral motifs and the characteristic long pointed “teeth” on the front of the cap believed to offer protection to the wearer from evil spirits as they framed the face.
