Additional Notes: Handmade collar made from delicate cotton fabric with cream color embroidery and openwork. From southern Moravia, but the exact village is unknown. Such collars were typically trimmed with lace and worn with a blouse or on top of an outer garment such as a jacket most notably in the Kyjovsko region. While embroidered almost exclusively using black threads in the latter part of the 20th century, other colors such as red, yellow, white, and cream were also popular in certain villages throughout the region. Note that the photos are taken on a dark background to better show the openwork embroidery and there are no black designs on the collar.
