Additional Notes: Vibrant wool cape from Opoczno area showing influence of Lowicz style known as “moda lowicka”. The pompoms on the ends of the string ties are a delightful detail that set this example apart. These are sometimes mistaken for aprons, but the size and style of the garment are indicative of its original function as a cape, called zapaska naramiena in Polish. Acquired from the grandson of the maker in the village of Tomaszów, gmina Żarnów.
