Description: Beautiful book about the folk costumes of the Slask region of South-Western Poland (near Germany). The book is in the format of a detailed museum catalog (Wroclaw National Museum) and lists each item of the collection with individual descriptions. The special focus is on women’s head-dresses (czepce), but the book covers about 600 costume items in the museum’s collection. Other items include skirts, aprons, dresses, blouse, men’s costumes, pants, hats, vests, jackets, shawls, and much more. The Slask region includes a wide variety of costumes so there are embroidered pieces, silk elements, lots of lace, metal embroidery, and many other embellishments. There are a large number of color and black/white photos detailing the various items of the collection (around 120 photos). A unique, detailed work on the costumes from this region of Poland.
