Description: Scarce book about the traditional folk costumes of the Romanian ethnic minority in the Banat region of Serbian Vojvodina. The Banat region, which is divided mostly between Romania and Serbia, was home to some of the most lavish folk costumes of Europe with their extensive use of metallic embroidery, coins, and expensive fabrics. This book looks at the relatively unknown costumes of the Romanian population of Serbia living to the north and south of Uzdin, the most famous of the Romanian villages in the region. 160 pages of text with line drawings of garment construction followed by 151 black/white photos documenting the folk dress and local population. Only 1,000 copies published.
